Gareth Kayes

Crown Solicitor, Manukau

Gareth is the Crown Solicitor at Manukau. He is responsible for the prosecution of serious crime in South Auckland in both the High Court and District Court. He has been a criminal prosecutor for 18 years. 

Gareth clerked for the Chief Justice before completing a BCL and MPhil at the University of Oxford. From 2005, Gareth worked in civil litigation. From 2008 to 2014, he was a prosecutor at the Auckland Crown Solicitor Office. In 2014 he established the law firm Kayes Fletcher Walker – which became the office of the Crown Solicitor at Manukau in 2015.
